History Topic: To develop an awareness of how toys have changed over time. Looking first hand at our own grandparents and our parents and ourselves. To compare how toys have changed since our grandparents. Enquiry Question – How have toys changed since my grandparents time? 7 Weeks of planning, worksheets/ activity page for every lesson. Lesson 6 is a Art/ Sketching lesson so their is no worksheet needed.

A quality resource and full of fun unit of work aimed at Year 1. Could be adapted to Reception, EY. 9 Lessons/Weeks worth of planning You will need a copy of ‘The Naughty Bus by Jan and Jerry Oke’ You will need a toy/ model of a red bus. I have attached the Note Book for Lessons 1, 2 & 3 and also the activity sheet. a great way to introduce field work and look at the geography of the school, buildings and playground. LESSON OVERVIEW; Lesson 1 - I can understand plan view. Lesson 2 - I can use plan view. Lesson 3 - I can draw simple routes on a map. Lesson 4 - I can devise a simple map Lesson 5 - I can collect information about the local environment. Lesson 6 - I can use photographs to recognise areas around our school - FIELDWORK Lesson 7 - I can identify basic human and physical features in each of the four compass directions - FIELDWORK Lesson 8 - I devise a simple map - FIELDWORK Lesson 9 - I can create a key and symbols for a map. Lesson 10 - I can compare similarities and differences using different geographical sources.
